Penelope Cake Stop is an all ladies pedal car team entering the Ringwood Pedal Car Grand Prix on Sunday 15 July 2012.
For those who have never experienced the “Monaco Style” race with 50 plus cars hurtling around the streets of Ringwood it is certainly a sight to be seen.
Last year saw us hurtling around the street of New Milton with elegance and style, but not too much speed.
However, we are returning this year with pink fluffy vengeance and hope to do a few more laps.
The Team
Having watched and cheered from the sidelines for the past three years, four brave souls decided to take to the pedals in 2011. Lead by Tamsin Hoare, the team are made up of Su Ponsford, Emma Hewitt and Felicity Turnbull. Their secret weapon is, legs 11, Ginette who will be pushing us from the pits. 2012 will be the second year of competing and not only have they been training at altitude already this year but the car is getting a make over as well.
The Car
Peril 1 did the girls proud at Ringwood and is currently being reconditioned and resprayed ready for the all new Lady Birds to take on her wheels.
Peril 2 is still in the design phases, but Mr H is confident of his new ergonomically majestically marvellous precision engineered remodel… all we know is it will of course be pink!!!! You can follow progress in our blog.
The Charity
The Team are delighted to be raising money for the Oakhaven Hospice Trust again
They are an amazing charity who provide specialist palliative care and support to those facing life-limiting illness and their loved ones in both a home and hospice setting. All donations can be made via the Oakhaven Giving website where 100% of your money will go directly to helping this great organisation.
The LadyBirds
The best news yet is we will be joined by a second car from Mr H’s stable. The Ladybirds have agreed to join our fleet and will be testing their wings for the first time this year.
